Fokpo N°1, a village in the Avé prefecture with approximately 4,000 residents, is experiencing growing hardship due to repeated poor harvests. This has severely impacted education, with the local school, built by the community, now in disrepair. Classrooms have dirt floors, no windows, and inadequate protection from weather, creating unsafe and uncomfortable learning conditions. The absence of a kindergarten further strains families, limiting school attendance and work opportunities. School participation, especially among girls, has declined, with only half expected to reach secondary education. A three-year community development initiative has been launched to improve school infrastructure, promote civic engagement, and raise awareness of key health and social issues. The project aims to create a safer, more inclusive learning environment and strengthen long-term educational outcomes for the village. 1st year : Renovation of the main building, cementing the floor of all the three classes and putting up the screens.
