Vocational Training for 100 Young Women, India

BASAID will support this project of the organization CRYS (Cuddapah Rural Development for Youth Welfare
Samithi) in the village of Vempalli, Kadapa District in the Andhra Pradesh State. During the 12 months of the project, 100 socially and
economically disadvantaged young women will learn how to sew clothes. The project participants are between 16 and 35 years old, have dropped out of school and are unemployed. At the end of the year they will receive 100 sewing machines and tool kits needed to open a tailoring center. Every woman will be able to earn 10,000 to 15,000 rupees per month to support their families and basic needs.
