Education of children in Korongocho slum to go digital, Nairobi, Kenya

Smiles Africa under the education and sponsorship program “TUSOME KIDIGITAL” will  help the kids to improve their reading and writing skills through digital and non-digital means using laptops which are equipped with all the learning aids.In Nairobi Kenya, only 25 out 300 schools in the disadvantaged communities have access to the open space literacy (OSL) which is a digital tool to help kids learn and cover the topics. In Korongocho community, the tool has not yet reached leaving the kids unexposed  how to learn in a digital sway. Most of the kids get to familiarize themselves with mobile phones or laptops after high school level and others don’t even get the chance to go to computer classes due to poverty level or ignorance. Smiles Africa Charity has 32 kids who are sponsored directly and 50 kids benefiting indirectly.
