We support the building and expansion of a school on a tea plantation in Sri Lanka.
In October 2018, a project was launched build a brand new school building in an existing school in a beautifully terraced tea estate. In October 2019, a second group of volunteers continued in the same location to add a first floor to the new building, providing 4 more classrooms, a library, an IT room and a music room, Art/Drama room.
The school is situated in the scenic mountains of Knuckles Range in Madulkelle in the Kandy region. Tea has been one of the main incomes in Sri Lanka and the school is surrounded by tea plantations. The volunteers participated in the construction work on the building site as well as in some leisure activities
