Agbessia Canton, home to more than 5,000 people—60% of them under 18—faces severe challenges in accessing healthcare. The nearest health center is over 30 km away, and poor roads and limited transport often lead to delayed treatment and preventable deaths. Although the community has built schools, a basic treatment room, and a borehole, the absence of a proper health facility remains a critical gap. This project aims to establish a local care center to address urgent needs such as malaria, maternal health, and waterborne diseases, reducing dependence on distant and inaccessible services. It forms part of a broader effort to strengthen rural health infrastructure and save lives. The planned facility includes: Main building with consultation rooms, a pharmacy, and a 10‑bed inpatient ward. Rainwater harvesting system with a 20 m³ drinking-water cistern. Sanitation facilities: a two-stall latrine and a shower room. Open space for a vegetable garden and orchard to support nutrition and sustainability. A volunteer committee (COGES), trained in finance, conflict resolution, and risk management, will oversee the 2 year project under village leadership
