Support initiation of chicken farming for group Dekawowo, Togo

, , ,

Afiadegnigban-Zanguera is a village outside of Lome, where increasing urbanization progressively renders traditional small farming difficult and is leaving young people with no prospects for the future. The project will set up a chicken farming unit of laying hens in this village on an area of approximately 600 m2. This will include the construction of the hen houses, fencing around the farm, shelters for storage of poultry feed, lighting, water and the acquisition of 400 chicks.

The project will directly benefit the 11 members of the DEKAWOWO group and their families, (roughly 50 people). Those families are all living in a precarious situation and the aim of the project is to improve their financial situation therefore allowing better nutrition and education for their children.
