In Peru, the poverty has increased due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Women are disproportionately affected by poverty, discrimination, and exploitation, especially in rural areas, which limits access to education and opportunities for economic independence. In addition, violence and sexual harassment has increased against women, as several of the public services provided to support women during the pandemic have been closed.
The aim of this project is to promote economic entrepreneurship among 10 women who have suffered violence to become agents of change and defend their right to sustainable livelihoods and become self-sufficient.
