Act ministries, in partnership with the Handa Foundation, is conducting a community-based screening, treatment and health education project for diabetes and hypertension. The incidence of non-communicable diseases is increasing in Cambodia and the project focuses on identifying and treating patients with diabetes and hypertension in poor rural communities in North-West Cambodia. It also aims to empower patients to help manage their own conditions through education and support. This is an extension of a previous project supported by BASAID, which won an Excellence award in the community involvement category of the 2018 Asian Hospital Management Awards.
