Development of an Agricultural cooperative to support women in Mbanza-Ngungu, Democratic Republic of Congo

, ,

Women in charge of households have to face many hardships in order to meet all the needs: healthcare, education, food, clothing are all costs that they have to support alone.

The aim of the project is to create a cooperative that motivates women to unite, collaborate and work in a community spirit. A hen rearing with 700 chicken will be established in order to train 80 women in hen farming, which will generate income and improve nutrition of the households. The chicken farming activity will serve as an education platform to master chicken farming techniques and help these women to improve their revenues.
