The VOC Rural Development Center in Tamil Nadu, India, aims to establish a Farmers Resource Center to promote sustainable organic farming. This project will support 1.200 poor households, small farmers, and landless workers by providing training and resources to improve crop yield, soil health and income. The center will offer education on organic techniques like vermicompost, Azolla, and Panchakavya preparation, and develop models for organic manure and biochar production. Additionally, a seed bank will preserve traditional seedlings, and community awareness programs will be conducted. With a budget of 11,000 CHF, the project envisages the transition of 1.200 farmers to organic farming within 12 months, to make over 1.200 acres chemical-free within 36 months, to reduce farm input costs by 20%, and to increase the sale price of produce by 20%.
