The project targets 40 migrant Dalit families who are struggling to survive. They have returned to their native village due to the closure of the companies they worked for prior to COVID 19 and now plan to farm the land donated to them by the government.
The project will educate them in sustainable agriculture and organic farming practices and will enable them to cultivate vegetables and fruits resulting in food producing crops. They will generate income to support the livelihood of their families, educate their children, and ensure their health and well-being. BASAID will fund this project in partnership with the New Era Trust which is run in the village of K.Keeranur, Dindigul District in the Tamil Nadu State.
