Strengthening Public Healthcare, Cambodia

This project was developed by CCT (Cambodia
Children’s Trust). The project aims to strengthen public
healthcare through the Village Hive Model by
addressing chronic under-resourcing and the barriers
that limit access to care for vulnerable families.
The project will upgrade a Village Health Centre that
serves 12 villages. The Health Centre will be equipped
with essential medical supplies and outreach will be
expanded through regular home nursing visits, health
assessments and referrals to specialised services. Health
literacy will be improved through a wide range of
education initiatives on preventive health, hygiene,
maternal and child health, nutrition, family planning,
and disease prevention. Nutritional support
programmes will deliver thousands of school meals and
establish community gardens to help reduce
malnutrition. Mental health and meditation workshops
will promote wellbeing and healthier coping strategies,
and the training of Village Health Volunteers will build
lasting local capacity. Together these actions will
improve service quality, extend coverage to remote
households, and reduce preventable illness This support
provides sustainable, community-led healthcare access
for an estimated 35,000 people across the target area.
