resilience for vulnerable families in Cambodia” developed
by CCT (Cambodia Children’s Trust) aims to strengthen the
economic resilience of vulnerable families in Battambang,
Northwest Cambodia. The focus of this project is to enable
long-term self-reliance through financial literacy, vocational
training and income-generating support and immediate
basic needs such as education, healthcare, food, and shelter
are addressed directly.
Working primarily with female-headed households in
Preah Sdach Commune, Battambang District, this project
helps families to co-design sustainable livelihoods, access
safe employment, establish savings groups and launch
small businesses with start-up capital and business
development training. Through comprehensive
monitoring, participatory evaluation, and case management,
the project seeks to increase household
income so that women are economically empowered. In
addition, child protection risks are reduced by enhanced
food security, access to services and by reducing debt
and negative coping strategies. This project will
ultimately benefit 30 vulnerable families (approximately
165 people).
