Fundación Apoyar is a local partner with which BASAID has worked very successfully since its foundation in 1996. This new project aims to promote a model of sustainable rural development. It focuses on reducing CO₂ emissions in agriculture, efficient water management, and strengthening the local economy.
The project will be implemented in Colombia in the regions of Samaná, San Diego, Florencia, and La Vereda El Congal, as well as in the municipality of Victoria in the department of Caldas. Around 700 people are expected to participate. They will gain insights into agroecological production and water management. In addition, the promotion of tourism willl further strengthen the local economy.
Moreover, collaboration among these communities will help to promote peace in the region.
