Training Health Providers, Laos

Established in 2016 to elevate health services in Attapeu province, Laos, the Health Training Centre received BASAID support from 2021 to 2023. These projects run by our local partner SFE (full form of SFE)  contributed to enhance training quality, focusing on team skills and infrastructure of the Training Centre. Feedback at the end of the first phase of the project in 2023 highlighted the following needs: Improved teacher preparation, better student environments, and enhanced local coordination with the hospital. BASAID’s focus for 2024 will therefore include supplying teaching materials (laptops, printers, books), enhancing the learning environment (library computers, air conditioning for the classroom, student toilets), and supporting the renovation of the first aid room. This effort aims to boost the Health Training Centre’s impact, ensuring quality education for health professionals and aligning with the goal of national accreditation for Attapeu’s Health and Nursing school.
