The headquarter building in Gyetiase, consisting of the eye clinic, an office and volunteer accommodation, was built in 2010. Recently it was realized that the building needs renovation to rescue the building. The number of patients in the eye clinic in Gyetiase is increasing steadily. Dr Agnes Oppong, assisted by Dr Sandra Mensah Bonsu, runs the clinic for two days a month. So far hand-written records of all patients are kept but with the rapidly increasing numbers of patients this is becoming difficult. In order to better organize the patient numbers, a purpose-made computer program is required to register and store patients’ details. This program is currently used by most or all Ashanti hospitals and would allow the clinic to easily store thousands of records.
