This project, run by Basaid’s local partner NGO Children’s Future International, aims to empower young women and provide them with the knowledge, skills and confidence to plan for a successful future. Young women are particularly vulnerable in rural Cambodia. They often drop out of school, face high levels of unemployment and, as a result, are at risk of poverty, forced migration, forced marriages and many other forms of exploitation including trafficking, prostitution and child labour.
The project informed girls about career opportunities other than family work and encouraged them make self-determined choices for their future.
