Ashanti Development is a charity working to relieve poverty and improve health and development in Ghana’s northern Region, primarily through clean water, sanitation, healthcare, and education. Over 50,000 people have benefited from its initiatives like educational support, including scholarships and women’s empowerment programs.
Currently, the region is facing a major influx of migrants from the Sahel, displaced by climate change and conflict. These migrants arrive in poor health and urgently need water, healthcare, and support. Resource scarcity has led to rising tensions with local communities, risking potential conflict. Ashanti Development is seeking funding to drill 5 boreholes in migrant villages to provide clean water—crucial for improving health, easing tensions, and promoting peaceful integration and long-term community stability
