SFE (Service Fraternel d’Entraide), BASAID’s
longstanding partner in Laos, will launch a new threeyear
project in 2026 to improve the nutritional status of
children under five years of age. During a preparatory
survey conducted by SFE in the province of Salavan in
southern Laos, it was revealed that nearly one third of
children under five were stunted and underweight. The
project will support 300 families facing high levels of
food insecurity to improve their access to food and
drinking water in sufficient quantity and quality.
Furthermore, caregivers, volunteer health workers, and
local health sector staff in the project villages will
receive specific training and one village will be
developed into a model village for nutrition
