The NGO Chaitanya Mahila Mandali established the Chaitanya Boys’ Home in 2022, a residential facility in Vempalli, Andhra Pradesh, India, caring for 40 boys aged 6 to 14. The mission of the shelter home is to provide these children from economically disadvantaged and broken families with a safe environment to build their capacity for future independence.
The children are provided with three meals per day, hygienic living conditions, access to education, emotional guidance and are protected from abuse, discrimination, slavery, exploitation, and trafficking.
Since the shelter home operates with significant financial constraints and does not receive governmental support, they are in need of support for the further equipment of the home to improve the living standards of its inhabitants.
BASAID will support the home with 3’300 CHF for the purchase of 10 dormitory cots, cooking equipment and a refrigerator.
