Every year, children from Peru’s most remote regions travel to Lima for life-saving medical treatments. They come so far, and many arrive with few resources aside from hope and a promise of cure.
And yet a lack of essentials we take for granted – like transportation, food and shelter – can sometimes be the reason that a child with a serious condition must stop their medical care.
That is where Albergue Inspira steps in. Founded in Lima in 2008 by Dr. Ricardo Pun Chong, Inspira provides temporary shelter, healthy meals, transportation to hospitals, and emotional support for children and their mothers. It is a place of compassion and dignity, where families can focus on healing rather than survival.
Albergue Inspira operates thanks to the valuable support of compassionate companies and individuals who contribute voluntarily. However, these resources are limited, and it is often difficult to cover our monthly commitments.
BASAID wants to do its part to help, and ensure that these children and their mothers receive shelter, healthy food, transportation, and emotional support during treatment.
With your help, we can raise 22,000 USD or 20,000 CHF so that no child has to stop treatment because of poverty.
22 USD / 18 CHF is the cost per day per child and mother to be able to attend medical treatment (incl. meals, shelter, services and transport)
Join BASAID in giving hope where it’s needed most, donate now!
