or more than 30 years, the Deutsch-Madagassicher Verein Esslingen e.V. (DMVE) has worked on a purely private basis, doing purely voluntary work to ensure that Madagascar’s poorest young people have access to a good life through qualified vocational training by financing around 230 young people to learn their profession in five different practical areas and in school lessons. This qualified education at SOLTEC is recognized by the state and ensures an independent future for these young people
Second-year apprentices from Soltec should build 200-watt turbines, entirely with locally sourced parts. It will engage apprentices in metalworking, carpentry, and electrical work. The cost of building one turbine is estimated at around CHF 2000. Pre-financing the project for three years would secure practical and valuable training for the apprentices while also providing electricity to rural social institutions like orphanages, health stations, and schools.
