School renovation Adrakpo, Togo

From 2020 to 2022, Acteurs Réunis, with funding from Basaid, successfully renovated a three-classroom building at the primary school in Adrakpo village. Additional funding from Rasche Hilfe was later secured to repair the rainwater supply system, enhancing sanitation for students. However, some critical needs remain unaddressed like doors – The classrooms lack doors, leaving them unprotected when pupils are absent. Screens – there is a need for screens instead of windows to protect classrooms from heavy rains and to secure school materials. Access Ramps –  the current access ramps are not suitable for disabled children. Lighting – once screens are installed, classrooms will become dim, necessitating solar lighting as there is no electricity in the village. In addition, there is a great need to change the rusted and perforated tank-roof (which is made of corrugated metal sheet).
