In Dhenkanal, Odisha, India, the Social Organisation for Voluntary Action (SOVA) aims to enhance the quality of life for indigenous tribal people by establishing a leaf plate and cup manufacturing enterprise. This project will support two Self Help Groups (SHGs) by constructing a production center with four machines, providing necessary equipment, and offering training in production, business management, and marketing. The initiative, With a budget of 16,300 CHF and land provided by the community, this project targets to improve the livelihoods of at least 20 households by generating additional income and promoting economic independence. The project will also empower women, ensure sustainable development, and elevate the village’s reputation as a quality production center.
