Water well in Kidatu, Tanzania

New water well for Kidatu
,

Community buildings in Kidatu, a remote rural community in the north of Tanzania, currently use an old government funded water well that is too shallow to provide clean drinking water throughout the year. In the dry months between July and November there is water scarcity in the area. Local people have to fetch water from unsafe shallow wells, seasonal streams, and the Ruaha River. They even transport water from distant areas to Kidatu on motorbikes to sell. The goal of the project is to provide clean water to the rural community of Kidatu by building a new 100m deep water well to supply clean drinking water to the local nursery, primary and secondary school, health center, church facilities, and the wider Kidatu community.
