The aim of the project is to enable 18 to 34 year olds to have a 2 year apprenticeship as bricklayers, roofers or tile layers.
70% of young people in Bongor, Chad have no vocational training. The aim of the project is to enable 18 to 34 year olds to have a 2 year apprenticeship as bricklayers, roofers or tile layers. After completion, the participants receive the tools of their trade so that they can achieve professional independence. Project management in Bongor is carried out by the local organization, Akwada, headed by Rahel Marty Ngargam, a Swiss woman, and her husband from Chad, Joseph Ngargam. Akwada cooperates with village communities, associations, businesses, NGOs, foundations, and churches in Chad and Cameroon.
