Bazar
Once a year, usually in November, we organize a bazar in every canteen of the associated companies in the vicinity of Basel.
The goal is to draw coworkers attention on the different sites to the issues we are dealing with within BASAID. We show on some posters some of the interesting projects, we contact personally people that show an open interest in our activities and we try to get to new members who will sign on spot.
We are also selling various products manufactured in third world countries and particularly in our projects in Africa ( eg dried fruits from Togo ), Latin America and Far East.
We are not aimed at making some money in the bazar, but contribute with our purchase to the local revenues. At the same time we are practically checking that the projects are sustainable and still achieve the quality required.
Manfred Haug organizes the bazar since years on a voluntary base but he needs the support of additional volunteers on every site in order to be efficient in the acquisition of new members. On-site support is always welcome.
